I'M aying attention, and so should anyone else who is concerned about what is going wrong with this country. You might not agree with 'camping', but it is a form of political protest, and a good sigt more pro-active than sitting at a computer complaining about other's engagement. Our rights are being stripped as we type--first amendment free speech is being removed in bill after bill, while Americans let the T.V. occupy their minds instead of real thought. And just as an aside, if you're Christian, you should be rather concerned about the poor and the homeless, as well as exploited workers--it's a major theme in the Book--and Occupy is one of the only organizations decrying the destruction of the weakest in our society. So shame, shame on all of you who forget that it is those who work and sacrifice on behalf of others that make salvation possible--that's Occupy protesters, civil and armed forces servants, and Jesus folks. Holy week is approaching and the cross is occupied...it's still occupied today too.

Big Mac, OccupyMac, or whatever the hell your name is, like I said, I dont give a crap that or what youre protesting. My problem is that your group is turning a very visible location into an eyesore. Move to a campground. And let me ask you this. Why are you just now beginning to protest when this crap with the govt. has been going on for decades? If it were not for the occupy wall street group, all of these local groups would have never started. What were you doing about this before the occupy crap started? Sitting at home or going to your job, but now that this has become a trend, everyone wants to occupy something or someplace. Protest all you want, I could care less, but take your camp to a campground and pay fees for camping like the rest of us do.

dilligaf, you ask about cameras? We have two cameras monitoring our entrances due to a couple of instances of thieves coming in and robbing. They are trained on public space. No, we don't do background checks. How many organizations do you belong to that require them? Even the NRA didn't do one on me when I joined. Amberjack. Apparently you are paying attention. Most of us have jobs. Several of us are disabled veterans. All of us are out there attempting to enjoy the freedom our constitution was suppose to guarantee. Dilligaf. As an American citizen you are suppose to care about what happens in your nation. It is our responsibility as citizens to keep watch on our government and, if a citizen feels the government is going in the wrong direction to assemble and petition said government for a redress of grievances. OLR has, in its five months at the parking lot done research and testified before the Pulaski County Quorum Court about the Maumelle Watershed issue. Defended the Veterans Administration at the City Council concerning the Veteran's Drop in Center. Began work on a ballot initiative for campaign finance reform in the state. Circulated petitions to overturn Citizens United v. FEC and for strengthening banking regulations to keep a repeat of the 2007/2008 housing and stock market crashes. OLR has been actively working on coalition building with many different organizations in the city to improve quality of life, improved transparency of government, lobbying reform, campaign finance reform, women's rights, Veteran's rights, homeless rights, and ensuring our drinking water supply. Yes. We have had one person out of hundreds get arrested. That man MAY have committed a crime two years ago. He had been a very helpful and hard working member of the group. In my association with him, he has been exemplary, therefore, I feel it is my Christian duty to forgive and pray for the best. We are not camping. We are protesting.

Sleece, you hit the button two spaces over from the right one, "z". SLEEZE. I dont care THAT or WHAT you are protesting, I care that your "group" has created an eyesore for the public to see. You are only mimicking that of others, this was not your idea to camp out and protest, and if someone else had not started doing it, you would still be at your job not giving a rats butt. If you want to camp out, then go to a camp site, not a public parking lot.

I really don't understand why so many uninformed people think they are trying to get a handout. Occupy has nothing to do with handouts and never has. Educate yourself. Occupy is fighting to keep money out of politics and adherence to the Contitution. They are fighting for YOU as I guarantee you are not part of the 1%. They are fighting to stop the buying of political represntatives, bank bailouts (for their criminal activities) and for our constitutional rights that have been stripped from us by the Patriot Act. To say "get a job" is just showing ignorance. Turn off your Tv and read. The corporate contolled media won't report the real story because they GET all the money Citizen's United lets corporations pay for representatives. This guy was arrested for $1000 robbery, how many of the criminals on Wall Street who stole trillions have been? These folks in Occupy are not lazy, they just care about our country and its citizens. When did we become such a sad nation that deems that bad? Why are you ordinary people standing up for those who rape our people? Occupy your mind!!! When you scream "get a job" (which I have), I will scream "get an education".

So this group has video cameras in place? I wonder whose rights they have violated by that. The guy says they dont allow people with warrants into their group, yet they dont do background checks. So, how do they know if their groupies have warrants or not? The city needs to grow a set and make these people move. The camp is an eyesore. If they want to camp out, go to a campground.

I think it's time for these OLR worthless, lazy bums to go to work. No one is paying one bit of attention to this mess anymore.
