Officer charged with manslaughter has hearing

A Little Rock police officer on paid leave for the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy last month has his administrative hearing this morning.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - A Little Rock police officer on paid leave for the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy last month has his administrative hearing this morning.

A department spokesman says Josh Hastings has not been fired, however, his firing is likely to come soon.

Hastings will have the opportunity to appeal.

Right now Officer Hastings is relieved of his duties.

He shot 15-year-old Bobby Moore, Jr. last month while responding to a suspicious person at Shadowlake Apartments.

Chief Stuart Thomas says evidence from the scene contradicted Hastings assertion - that Moore was driving toward him when he fired.

Hastings has pleaded not guilty.

His next court appearance is set for January.
