NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – Police are investigating a home invasion robbery that left one man shot. Police say the victim was found in a flower bed next door to the robbery location.

Sergeant Brian Dedrick with the North Little Rock Police Department tells us that just after 11:00pm Saturday night, officers were called to a robbery at 12717 Secretariat in the gated community of Ashley Downs. Enroute to the scene they got word one person had been shot and taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Police tell us three men entered the home through an unlocked front door. 35 year old Lagworian Leonard fled a bedroom in the house, and into the garage as one of the three suspects shot at him. The three suspects then fled the scene. The shooting victim, suffering from at least one gunshot wound, was found by family members in a flower bed next door.

The shooting victim underwent surgery and at last report was listed in critical condition. The suspects remain at large.

Think; better a gun in the hand than a cop on the phone! Butch; your comment reminds me of a sign I saw in an Easy Rider issue back in the late '80's or early '90's. Biker had a sign on his gate about calling first, etc. Sign ended with "if not, what the blank are you doing here". Thanks for the memory and the chuckle about the sign.

I was in Tennessee this weekend visiting an old friend from college and while we were sitting on the back deck around 10:30 p.m., we heard glass shatter in the garage. As we went around the edge of the house, we saw 2 flashlights shining. We watched them ransack his garage as we called the police. Dispatch said it could be awhile before someone could get there because they were working 4 other robberies in that area. When the police showed up about 20 minutes later, we have the lil punks tied to each other, hand and feet with a shotgun and two pistols drawn. We didnt even realize when we tied their feet that they had both pissed all over themselves. LOL.

Glad that the homeowner is okay, as well as my family members that live in that particular gated community as well. See crime can happen anywhere, not just in locations people think that crime should only be happening in. A gated community for a thief ain't nothing now. We are licensed to carry and would not have any regrets for any person breaking into my home. This is what can happen, when sometime our law enforcement can get to relaxed as well as neighborhors.

I think a person should be able to protect himself in his home with deadly force. I have not got a problem with it at all. I'll rough up a man for just getting in my yard. My residence is private. Even friends and family better call before driving in.

I have a concealed permit and a gun but,if you don't do a good job they will sue you and most likely the courts will find in their favor.I hate to be so negative but,it scares the crap out of me when i think of it.

Well Think4Urself, they can't be everywhere ALL the time. Too bad the homeowner did not have a Glock sitting next to his bed... It is DEFINITELY time for people to start taking their cities back from these turds.

trapper and protector; I agree with both of you. I once mentioned I had my 40 in my belt as I was sitting here at the keyboard. Some enjoyed making snide comments about it. Jealous? Enjoy trying to get under others skin? Convicts? Thugs? Who knows; but if any of them, or anyone else tried to come through the door, the meat wagon would be hauling them away. I hope this victim recovers, and I hope they catch the garbage that invaded his home.
