treefrog52881, where does all this bs about the R word come from? the story is about Arkansas wanting to break away from the union... you are letting your ignorance show for the whole world to see, and it is a well known fact that blacks perpetuate racism far more than the whites... do some homework

LSSLSM- Oh and by the way, the fact that you can't even spell SECEDE, comforts me greatly on your ability to convince others to do so. No one is seceding, and if Arkansas were to try I for one would be happy if the answer from the gov't was "Don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you!" since it would mean that A. My family would get orders out of here, and B. Arkansas could NEVER survive on its own. We only keep from running in the red every single year because of the money that is given to us by the federal government. Without federal money this state couldn't afford to do anything. I have my freedom thank you very much, so I have no need to fight for anything. But I think myself and others would be happy to fight against ignorant people like you if you think treason is the answer to simply not getting your way in an election. So I say BRING IT.

@Leatherneck- Oh really? No you didn't say the r-word, but your comments on wearing helmets and talking crap about the short bus certainly implied a insult to a previous poster inferring that he was mentally handicapped- which is the same thing. It implies that children who are handicapped and have to wear helmets or ride the "short bus" are some how less and that their situations can be used to insult others by comparing them to those children. My prejudice? HA! What prejudice have I shown? Besides a prejudice against people who find those with mental handicaps as good use of insulting material against others who don't agree with them on the internet? Yeah, you go ahead and detail that. As for my family's decision to buy a home, we did so because we wanted an investment. Had it not been for the crash it would have been a good investment to make, and in the end it probably still will be, but for now we are stuck. A lot of people invested in real estate prior to the crash, choosing to do so instead of rent, I don't find that to be a "stupid" thing to have done at all. In fact a good majority of my neighborhood is home owners who are active duty, so apparently your respect for military personnel who are not yourself is quite low as you not only insult me, but many others by assuming that we should have somehow seen the crash that pretty much NO ONE saw coming and chose to make investments instead of throwing our money away on rent. I don't have issues, I'm thrilled to pieces with the way the elections turned out. I am also thrilled to be able to use proper spelling, grammar, and English. Something which you seem unable to do yourself (I bet you gripe about having to press 1 for English too, despite the fact that your grasp upon your own language is minimal and equal to that of a 2nd grader at best- that doesn't seem hypocritical eh?). @LSSLSM- You should get off the internet, seriously. Your ignorance is showing.

Sorry trefrog to dissapoint you but it is all over the mainstream news that BO will push for a third term. Very sorry also to hear how black military were treated. ALL Military folks have my highest regard no matter what you think of their character - I personally know what each and every one them sacrifice. And I STILL say to get out from under our ever growing fed govt and we should and COULD secceed. AND my feelings have NOTHING to do about race but ALL about the socialist agenda this current administration is pushing for - which will turn into either facism or communism. Lest we forget past history we will be doomed to repeat it. But this time it will be on OUR side of the fence. You ready to fight for your freedom??? I am.

Trefrog. I never used the "R" word. You simply interpret things in a ay tht benefits you. I have a cousin that is mentally and physically challenged. Lots of people are mentally challenged, that doesn't mean they are, OH I ALMOST SAID IT, the "R" word. As for ou living in Cabot and not being able to sale your house dues to the housing market. Seems to me if you and your husband were financially savvy you wouldn't ave purchased a house in Cabot since he is on active duty. But since you say is can't get orders then HAHHAHAH I guess you are stuckin Cabot. Man it's nice to be debt free and own a home and three vehicles, and oh wait, don't want to bore you with more bio. You have a nice weekend. Work on that racist and predukice attitude of yours. Seems you are the oly one here that has issues. Arkansas Yankee you old dog, we need to meet in person.

LSSLSM- It doesn't matter which side of the racial line it exists on, it's NOT okay. Period. Having grown up in Arkansas and having spent much of my adult life here too, I can vouch that there is a high amount of it white towards black, much more than I've ever seen go the other way. A few of the things that have happened in Cabot to black military families is a huge part of what makes me ashamed to live here and accounts for my earlier *ugh* comment (nooses hung in their yards, the n-word painted on their garage doors, their gas line being damaged, etc.- these were active duty military personnel! But because they were black they were targeted. So yeah, I would LOVE to move. And actually, I've lived in Jacksonville- for a few years actually- and never had a single problem from black people. EVER. So there goes that whole bull crap idea eh?). but, maybe that's because I don't judge people by their skin color, but instead by their behavior and I don't use stupid stereotypes and judgements to try and shore up already existing bias. Maybe your experiences are a result of your own prejudices and attitudes? Just sayin'. In the six years I've lived in this city, I've heard the n-word dropped more and by strangers no less in a very casual manner than anywhere else, ever. They seemed surprised by my appalled reaction, every time. It's ridiculous that we are fifty years past civil rights passage and people are still stupid enough to buy into racial biases. As for the Obama third term- what a crock of crap. Are your serious or are you trolling? That was an email, sent out by an advertiser that Newt Gingrich sold his email list to. Even Gingrich said it was ridiculous and false. It has no bearing in reality. Really, this is what we're doing? Rumors with absolutely NO factual basis or evidence, that are only intended to stir the pot? Are you a 13 year old girl? This isn't junior high. Time to grow up.

Let's be realistic folks. If Ark. or any other state tries to go independent of CONUS, federal troops(or UN troops)would be driving thru the streets to keep the peace. Letters, emails, phone calls, and votes are the only way to get back on track.

I've been a dxxmn yankee for 15 years now. Moved here from the midwest because i love the South's resilience - guns, god, & country - love it. Mild winters - love it. However, I will tell you, I have NEVER seen SO Much racism until I moved here. And I'm not talking about the whites. BTW - heard a rumor BO is wanting to do away for term limits for pres and go for a third. Anyone here that?
