LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — An ozone advisory has been issued for four counties in central Arkansas.

Metroplan has issued the advisory for Tuesday in Pulaski, Faulkner, Lonoke and Saline counties and is the sixth ozone advisory of the year in the region.

Sensitive groups such as children, the elderly, and persons with breathing problems are urged to limit outdoor activities.

All are encouraged to take public transportation or carpool, postpone errands that include driving, drive more slowly and accelerate gradually and avoid refueling, lawn mowing and activities such as barbecuing until after 6 p.m.

The advisories are issued by Metroplan in partnership with the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, Arkansas Department of Health, and Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.
