HOT SPRINGS, AR – The man suspected of
shooting and killing Leroy Collins, Jr. June 12th in Pine Bluff was arrested Monday evening in Hot Springs.
Pine Bluff Police say they had information that Lester Phillips was staying at a house on Hagen Drive. Hot Springs police confirmed that Phillips was staying at the house. The Garland County Sheriff’s Office sent out their SWAT team and hostage negotiators.
After negotiations, around 6:30pm, Phillips exited the house and was taken custody.
Phillips was taken to the Jefferson County jail. The jail’s website says Phillips is being held on no bond, charged with capital murder and possession of a firearm by certain persons.
