OK, number one....get rid of all the top heavy do nothings that just breathe air and wander around. number two...split the PCSSD district into at least four (Jacksonville has been screaming since 1983 and was PROMISED) number three...Lets prioritize...all of you that benefitted from the racial discrimination crap got your cookies..how about fixing the buildings you have been ignoring for about 40 years now... number four...how about some updates to the classrooms and some actual discipline policy; might I suggest Flip this Class technique--less reading (do for homework) and discuss in class for productive results.

@icarpe---If you are not involved, then maybe you need to stay that way. My child has been in the district for 11 yrs. It gets worse each year. I agree with Robert Austin. Nothing is going to change until they get Dr Guess out along with the board & bring in a whole new group. My daughter took spanish one year. She didnt get the credit because the teacher wasnt there for a whole semester & came back & quit. My daughter sat in class with subs that knew nothing about spanish. She had a Chemistry teacher that past year that didnt teach her anything, & not because she didnt want to learn. Until you have been in the schools & seen some of the teachers that are there teaching but not caring, then the kids are not going to learn anything. The teachers have to want to teach!!! There are some great teachers in the district, a lot of them, but the subs they bring in are very scary. One sub was called a perv on a daily basis when he was there, but no one would do anything. And we wonder why kids want to be taught at home. PCSSD needs to face reality, drop high salaries & teach, which is what they are supposed to do!!!

You folks commenting on Dr.Guess' salary need to get on a different wagon.I am not involved but I suspect he earns every dime having to put up with all the BS from the unions and incompetent flunkies drawing salaries for tagging along.Get off his back and help the man for the kids.

Robert Austin, if I were you, I wouldnt ask for Beebe's input due to the conflict that will come because Guess is on his list of "untouchables." The best thing that can ever happen is if they fire the entire PCSSD board, leaders, supers and basically everyone. Find people that WANT to do the job for the true reasons..... THE KIDS EDUCATION. Get rid of these money hungry moron leaders.

I think what Dr Guess meant to say was that he rewrote two job descriptions, deputy superintendent and curriculum director position and rehired the people to fill the positions by cutting teacher pay all at a tremendous savings of ZERO dollars to taxpayers?

One of these two new hires is a former Superintendent, and they don't come cheaply, as Dr. Guess's salary and benefit package make clear! The best thing that could happen tomorrow for the PCSSD would be for the Governor to order a 50% cut in the number of administrative positions. TOO MANY EXPENSIVE ADMINISTRATORS is the real problem. It's time we solved it. Please sign this petition to Gov. Beebe, requesting his intervention: http://www.change.org/petitions/petition-to-arkansas-gov-mike-beebe-to-intervene-to-end-the-crisis-in-the-pcssd

Budget cuts, but wait...in 2012 Dr Guess spent $355,466 for attorneys, coupled with his salary and benefits package, that's HALF a MILLION. And the tax payers are suppose to believe its all in the name of good fiscal stewardship?
