Panthers Cheer On Their Team In A New Stadium

The football season kicks off in Benton with a brand new stadium.
BENTON, AR -- Benton Panthers fans experienced something they haven't experienced in decades...cheering from a brand new football stadium.

The crowd was pumped up as the team ran in for the first time tonight.

The stadium holds more than 3,200 people.

Some of the features include an electronic scoreboard, artificial turf, air conditioned concession stands and a large press box.

Fans are proud of the Panthers new home.

"I think the entrance when you first come in, with the banner and Panthers, really looks great," Joe Felan said. "The field itself looks good with the big Panther in the middle."

The stadium is part of the nearly $11 million Benton Athletic Complex which is right behind the school.
