BENTON, AR - More questions surrounding the Benton School District and the quality of care it's developmentally disabled students receive.

This after another parent comes forward to FOX16 with allegations their student was mistreated at an elementary school.

We introduced you to 6-year old Janiya Carter on Monday. The kindergartner is in a full leg cast suffering from a broken femur that her mom believes she received while at Caldwell Elementary last month.

Erica Horne saw our story, got online on the FOX16 Facebook site and contacted us.

"I don't believe their goal was to educate my children," Horne says.

Horne says her Autistic sons Dylan and Darrin no longer attend Benton schools, her family moving to Bryant. She says because of repeated verbal abuse towards her boys by staff at Caldwell. Horne says she filed a complaint with the Department of Human Services.

"The lady at DHS told me since Dylan could not talk himself, there was nothing they could do," Horne says.

DHS won't talk about any investigation, but Benton Schools refute Horne's claims, citing a department of education formal hearing that found the complaints without foundation, ruling in favor of the district.

"I feel our standard of care for every student is more than adequate,” superintendent Dan Jordan says. “We have a professional staff that do a good job each and everyday.”

Horne says her final year in Benton was actually a positive experience, but still decided to move her sons into Bryant schools.

As far as Janiya Carter's broken leg, investigators with Benton Police say they're still investigating along with the school district.
