i can honestly say i can believe where she is coming from. I haved helped in the concession stand at Bernard Hollan and it is chaos at times in there. And the volunteer parents who help work it do get free drinks and food (all except bottle drinks, and candy). And none of it is rang up in a register or nothing so how is there any record of what is sold or not sold. I don't put blame on them it is how it is set up.

Exactly what is paid administrative leave anyway? You did wrong but you are paid to stay at home until some dummy figures out what they are going to do to you for doing wrong. I'm with wpsark it's probaly just mismanagement and the money missing is overstated.

She made the correction to the titles in this article. Originally stated that Kitty was the park driector and Curtis as the assistant.

well, it's a dang concession stand...They let 13yr old ball players work the stand sometimes. For some reason I believe this lady did not "embezzle" the hotdog money and it was just mismanagement.

Same here Butch. I see where it says that she was the "Asst. Director". The money is somewhere, the question is where.

Sometimes I wonder what story was read by commenting people. When I read it it said exactly who was who. She was the asst. and he was the director. Her at the first with her comment. Both at the last part.

Ms. Kitty should have spent some the money on a hair stylist and some color, that gray is tragic

Sounds like they are setting this story up for Kitty to take the fall by naming her the Director. I have had the experience of dealing with the Benton parks department quite a bit and have been very frustrated at times with the lack of overall organization. I truely don't believe any money was stolen, but believe this is a case of obvious mis-management. I believe that the Curtis and Kitty have good hearts and mean well, but clearly are not qualified to manage this program. Benton has nice facilities but lacks in having the right personnel to lead this program to the level that it should be at. Benton is falling behind everyone and will continue to do so until they get rid of the "Good Ole Boy" attitude and run start taking a more proffessional approach to their departments.

It seems that a journalist should at least verify they have the correct information. FYI, Curtis McCormack is the partks director and Kitty Smith is HIS assistant. If this major fact is wrong, what else is not reported correctly?
