Tuesday, the Arkansas Board of Parole denied a teacher convicted of sexual assault parole. His victim was an eight year old girl at the time. FOX16 broke the news to the victims mother, Tammy. We're not using her last name to protect her daughters identity.
"He is an evil man," said Tammy. "I honestly think he is a serial pedophile."
Her words mirror what she said
last month at Brian Floss' parole hearing. She pleaded with the parole board to keep Floss in prison for the rest of his 10 year sentence.
"My daughter is so scared, she has nightmares," said Tammy. "I've been a nervous wreck all morning (Tuesday). I had no idea they had given you the results until you called, thank you so much.I haven't talked to anyone besides you, you just don't know how you've made my day."
In 2003, Floss made a deal with prosecutors, pleading guilty to second degree sexual assault. Tammy says Floss repeatedly raped her 8-year-old daughter and several other girls in a Fordyce Elementary School classroom. Attorney Richard Watts represents the victims and says Floss should be locked up for life.
"They denied parole, thank God. I can't explain how happy I am. I feel blessed, I was dreading it. I felt he would be paroled and I was dreading having to tell my daughter," said Tammy.
In one year, Floss is up for parole again and Tammy says she'll continue her fight to keep him behind bars.
FOX16 placed several calls to Floss' relatives in Fordyce to get their reaction to his parole being denied. Our calls were not returned.
