Paying "All Costs" of Mayflower Oil Spill Cleanup, Exxon Mobil Says

Still no timeline on how long it will take.
CNN - On Day 5 since the Mayflower oil spill, Exxon Mobil says it will pay all of the related costs.

That's according to CNN, which also reports company spokesman Alan Jeffers now says between 3,500 and 5,000 barrels of oil leaked from a ruptured pipeline -- not 12,000 barrels, as previously reported.

The company is still unable to say when the cleanup around the two dozen homes in a Mayflower subdivision will be finished.

Jeffers says excavation of contaminated soil is under way, weather permitting.

The Exxon Mobil spokesman could not yet give an estimate of what the cleanup will cost the company.
