Petition started to remove Old Job Corps Building

To those that are getting the petition signed, you may want to get one signed to help pay for the removal. This is how this process happens: The City of Little Rock will notify the owner(s) of the violation(s) and allow a time frame in which to get the violations corrected. If the owner(s) do decide to fix or remove the building, that will take time. (but thats not likely going to happen, or it would have by now) If the owner(s) dont fix it or tear it down, Little Rock City Council will have to condemn it and if the city has to tear it down, the taxpayers will be out that money. If you bill the owner(s) for the work, they probably wont pay it, then the city applies a lien on the property to collect the debt. But not one cent will be paid until they pay the taxes, which may or may not get paid. Therefore, leaving the residents of Little Rock out the possibly $100,000's to tear it down. I dont think the city has that kind of money to just throw around right now.
