FAYETTEVILLE, AR – The University of Arkansas says Jessica Dorrell has resigned from her position as the football program’s student-athlete development coordinator.

The university says they paid Dorrell $14,000 as part of a settlement agreement. As part of her resignation, Dorrell agreed she would not attempt to sell or profit from her affiliation with the program.

The university says there are no immediate plans to fill the position.

Statement from Athletic Director Jeff Long:

“While Ms. Dorrell had a legitimate right to apply for and accept a position within the football program, the circumstances surrounding the former coach’s decision to hire her compromised her ability to be effective in such a position. She and I believe she should have the opportunity to move on.”

If she filed sexual harrassment then $5oo,ooo is the going rate. No one is saying if the $20,000 ex-coach gave her came from his personal stash or was it from college funds. That would be blackmail.

@erbiee - Are you really that dense? He hired his mistress for a state job for which she had no qualifying experience. If it had been any other job, the two would likely be facing ciminal charges.

Resigned? She should not have been given that opportunity.

What he and she have done is not appropriate, no arguement, however, if she is married and has a husband as he does a wife, if is a personal thing that should be solved by them and the college should have no part in it, there is no reason that they had to forfit their job as long as the students were not involved in anyway, AT ALL.
