HIGGINSON, AR – A pilot was able to walk away after the plane he was flying crash landed in a field outside of Higginson.

The White County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old J.P. Freppon of Bald Knob was able to dump all the fertilizer his crop duster was carrying before hitting the ground.

The sheriff’s office says the plane caught fire shortly after landing, but was quickly extinguished by the Higginson Fire Department.

Freppon was not injured.
