PINE BLUFF, AR -- Detectives have arrested five people in connection to three different robberies that occurred over the last ten days.

According to the Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD), three men are in custody for robberies that occurred on Aug. 18 and Aug. 24, and two others were arrested for one that happened on Aug. 25.

PBPD arrested 27-year-old Jerome Cole, 22-year-old Tevin Cole and 19-year-old Lorenzo Porter after a group of five victims were robbed by three suspects near the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff (UAPB) on Aug. 18.

These three suspects were also charged in connection to a robbery in the 1200 block of North Magnolia Street on Aug. 24, in which they are accused of demanding a woman's purse at gunpoint, dragging her to the ground and then firing a round as they ran away. The suspect suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident, according to PBPD.

Cole, Cole and Porter have been charged with aggravated robbery.

Police also arrested 42-year-old Clifton Welch and 37-year-old Jeffrey Cole for a robbery in the 2600 block of South Laurel that occurred Sunday.

The victim told police two men knocked on his door, and when he answered, one of the suspects was pointing a shotgun at him. Police say the men demanded and took money and cigarettes, then left the scene.

Welch and Cole were also charged with aggravated robbery.
