PINE BLUFF, AR - Pine Bluff Police say 26-year-old Taraence Lamar Franklin of Pine Bluff died after being shot at least once in the upper body.
At approximately 1:00 am Saturday, police responded to 89 South Richard Street in reference to gunshots. Once there, they found Franklin lying in the driveway.
Pine Bluff Police say Franklin was visiting a female friend when someone kicked in the front door. Armed with a semi-automatic handgun Franklin chased the intruder into the front yard where gunshots were exchanged. Fatally wounded, Franklin walked back across the yard collapsing near the driveway where officers found him and his weapon.
Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelly pronounced Mr. Franklin dead at the scene. The victim’s body will be transported to the state crime lab for autopsy.
The suspect(s) have not been identified and remain at large.
