No shooting hoops in the gym at the Chester Hynes Community Center and this is why - half of the floors are undone because the crew who started the work is gone and reported to have entered the country illegally.

All over the country.. everywhere.. the illegal aliens work for less than the minimum wage, or low wages, and American Labor cannot compete. Which do we do.. destroy American Labor and hire illegal aliens, or enforce the law?

The contractor should be arrested for hiring illegals, lose the contract and lose his Ar contractors license. Let's see if pine bluff follows the law

Is this really a big deal? I mean hell, our top elected official's (Obama) citizenship is even in question. No one has ever fully proven that he is a legal citizen.

I worked construction for around 8 years; mostly as a carpenter; but did some concrete work, some roofing, painting, form work, and inside finish work. Illegals will work cheaper than white and black construction workers, the reason they are taking over the constrution jobs. I was thinking that this is part of the reason the bid was so low. And with the bid being so low, and the labor costs saved by hiring illegals; my thoughts on the possibility of a little payola.

why didn't the city use a local contractor in the first place????? Plenty of companies in Arkansas and in the PB area who replace floors!! As for the illegals, I must say good job to the PB officer who busted them. The memphis floor company should lose their business license.

Yep, that cops days are numbered. The mayor's girlfriend, Chief Davis-Jones, will make sure of that. Ya'll think back this election year as to who the elected officials are that want to give the illegals all the perks of a tax paying citizen without being legal or paying taxes.

I guess the Mayer will be ready to fire that cop now. He spilled the beans and now every body knows. I agree with javlen7 20,000$ difference should've been a red flag. No company can do the same quality work for that much below the competition.

If the Contract is with a Memphis based company the company will have to hire some legal people to finish it. Just because they hired illegals to work doesn't mean they get out of the contract. It could be costly for that hiring. Also if this company won the contract at 20 thousand less than the other closest bidder where would the money come from to be put under the table. They still have to pay for labor and the other expenses with 20 thousand less than the others would have had. It's on the high end bidding that there is money for the kick backs.

I'm not sure it would have mattered which company she went with, they all hire illegal Mexicans, that is just the way El Beebe has laid things out for them. We allow them to come in, hatch anchor babies at UAMS like chickens in a Tyason plant, provide interpreters to coach them onto Medicaid, and batta-beam, here we are with nothing but a big mess
