LITTLE ROCK, AR -- In traditional football fashion, the Players All-Star Classic kicked off this afternoon at War Memorial Stadium.

The game, split between players representing the North and South, features top college athletes from across the country. Garrick Jones is one of the games organizers and says it's a big opportunity for the players.

"They get to be seen by any professional squad from the NFL to the EFL," said Jones.

It's also a time where players can learn valuable information from sports agents like Judy Henry.

"What I tell my players is that this is a job. It is not a career. The average for players in the NFL is 3.2 years. So these players need to have an agent representing them who is not only interested in the short term, but also what's going to happen to them afterwards," said Henry

Planners say it cost about a quarter million dollars to put the game on. Game managers say they didn't spend much money on promotions because this is their first year. But they say next year, will be a different story.

"We're going to do a lot more promotions. That is going to be the biggest thing. The people that are here now will go home and have a quality product to talk about. They tell their friends and bring five or six more people next year," said Jones.
