CLAY COUNTY, AR - The Amtrak Police department reports that a body has been found matching the description of a man who went missing after boarding an Amtrak train on May 19.

According to Clay County Sheriff Gerald McClung, police received a call from a Union Pacific Train Crew member saying a body had been spotted along the tracks near Noble, Arkansas, close to the Black River. The body, which matched the description of Andrew Haukereid, appeared to have been in the area for awhile. Haukereid was headed to Chicago to celebrate his 80th birthday with his sons.

Police say Haukeried's dental records have been requested and the body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for identification.

The investigation is ongoing.

What sad news for the family to find out on Father's Day... At least now they can begin the process to lay him to rest.
