Police: Bryant teacher had sex with student in school parking lot

Police say a teacher with the Bryant School District will be charged with four counts of sexual assault for allegedly having sex with a student in the Bryant High School parking lot.
BRYANT, AR – Police say a teacher with the Bryant School District will be charged with four counts of sexual assault for allegedly having sex with a student in the Bryant High School parking lot.

Courtney Speer, 31, also faces two additional counts of sexual assault out of the Benton Police Department for allegedly having sex with the same student in her home.

Bryant Police say the victim is 17-years-old and the incident first occurred in June of 2012. Police say the victim told investigators he had sex with Speer in her car on 4 different occasions.

Speer, a 9th grade English teacher, resigned from the school district on October 1st. Police say the victim was in Speer’s class when he was in the 9th grade.

Bryant Police say Speer is married with two children.

According to police, Speer turned herself in at the Saline County jail on October 3rd.

The investigation is ongoing and police say more charges could be forthcoming. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call either the Bryant or Benton Police Departments.
