BRYANT, AR - Police have arrested the former Operations and Finance Director of the Boys and Girls in Bryant after an audit of membership fees uncovered a $16,965 discrepancy.

The director of the Boys and Girls Club, Suzanne Passmore, reported the missing funds to police on Wednesday.

Jonathan Ray Glenn, 38, turned himself in Friday and he has been charged with the theft of the money.

The organization said in a statement that "despite the routine checks and balances we, along with Boys and Girls Clubs of America and our auditing firm have put in place, Mr. Glenn found ways around these barriers of accountability." And that it has "already strengthened procedures to further safeguard the organization’s finances."

FOX16 News went to Glenn's house after getting word that he was released from the Saline County jail.  No one answered the door.

Parents learned of the theft when they picked up their kids this afternoon.

"Where are they going to come up with the money now because it's hard enough for us to pay the membership (fees) that they charge?" asked Michael Mitchell, a parent.

boston15; No, I don't think jenjarhan is insane; upset maybe. A friend of hers, and a "Godly" man to boot, has done something wrong, and she is just upset by it all. You say he admitted to it; I did not see that in the article; but yes, he did turn himself in. That in itself does not prove guilt; however, it doesn't look good for him in any case. Keep in mind my fellow poster, he is innocent until proven guilty in this country. I will agree with you though, I think he's guilty; but we'll let the courts decide that I guess. By the way, haven't seen you post before, nice to "meet" you; you aren't goig to hold it against me for being a Yankee fan I hope! LOL I enjoy watching them play each other; they play with more passion, more aggressively, and with more pride. I love it when you see them talking to each other when someone is on base; after all, it's just a game! Don't care for the Pats either; BUT, what little basketball I've followed over the years, I'd have to say if I had a favorite team, it would be the Celtics. Over and Out.

jenjarhan...are you insane. Your supporting him? He stole $17,000 from a non profit organization..he stole from kids. He admitted to it. He turned himself in. He did it. Hes a sick person..he needs help. And apparently so do you..your stupid comment is a great example of why this world is so screwed up. Someone steals money from kids and we have people pouring out their support for the guy. Thats pathtetic.

protector20; yep, those 3 were too worried about their "good" names being tarnished to worry about anything else. jenjarhan; Godly man? Where you been lady? When you go to church, you sit with adulterers, liars, thieves, pedophiles, alcoholics, drug addicts ( both illegal drugs and prescription drugs ), gossips; the list goes on lady; only God knows if someone is "Godly" or not. Remember the music director that was molesting children? Remember the teacher at a certain Christian school that was accused of molesting children? Read the news in the last few years about what some of our Pastors have been up to? Reminds me of an old joke; Do you know what the difference between a Baptist and a Catholic is - Catholics say hi to each other in the liquor store. Meaning of course that Baptists ignore each other there. On, and a once grand church in central AR - a married pastor that built it into a fine and large church; he had a married woman come to him for counseling concerning her marriage. They ended up doing more than "counseling"; which led to him resigning, and the subsequent downfall of the church; a church that had hundreds on Sunday morning; I visited last year on a whim, and maybe 2 dozen people there. So please, like I said, only God knows who is really "Godly" or not.

Don't worry jenjarhan, blackandproud is right; he'll probably only get probation ( if found guilty ); and if he is found guilty, he'll probably have to pay the money back at a rate of 10 bucks a month. So don't worry about your friend. Too bad he isn't a politician; then he wouldn't have had to worry about anything at all.

Innocent before proven guilty! Please do not pass judgment prior to all of the facts being heard out. I am personal friend and know such a Godly man would not have done such thing. He has always been the one to give everything to help the children and organization.

Guess those three aldermen in Bryant were too busy being offended by anonymous bloggers to worry about other little pesky things going on in their community.
