Throw out DHS and all the bleeding heart liberals and bring back the belt. This was an educated man that works a thankless job with people that do crimes. He didn't want to see his child walk down that road. Was he successful? What is her arrest record. He could have left out the cussing. When my mother said bend over that couch you had better comply. I'm 57 and still acting right. I remember the day when butting into a parents business with their child could land you with a sore nose. We should go back to that.

Oh, Please she will be ok. I bet you she hasn't stolen anything else since. She should have gotten her ass beat. If the police had of gotten hold to her after stealing, as an adult, if she'd resisted arrest, they would have beaten her a whole lot worse then her father had, and not just one policeman. If she still to this day, doesnt understand why he whipped her, then she's probably steal stealing. What my parents said to me after they whipped my ass, "This is going to hurt me more then it hurts you, but I have to do this to you now, so that the law doesn't have to do it to you later" It's called truth and consequence. If you cant abide by what's true, then you will suffer the consequences. I might could understand stealing at five, but stealing at 16, all I can say is, you need your ass beat. Not only for that, but for now causing your father, who is someone who is really needed in the justice system to handle all these unruly kids who run over there parents and have no discipline, to lose his job....damn shame.

I got my butt whipped with belts and switches minus the cursing. I'm pretty sure that I deserved them and I am thankful for them, and I also got paddled at school. Oh, might I add that I have never been in any trouble with the law; besides speeding tickets. I attend church regularly, and I'm not a drug user, but I will graduate with my masters degree in May. I am thankful for my disciplines. I got disciplined early in life, therefore I knew how to behave as a teenager. I was still a normal teenager that got in trouble for doing foolish teenage things. Parents today need to stop acting like their kids' peer and be a parent and tag their butts.

I have been confused for a long time now. About how to control a out of control child. One that is mental challenged is a different case than one that is physcialy challenged. Then you have your average child. I do beleive in spanking ,it works for some children but not for all. If you get control while they are very young makes a huge difference. I do not beleive in beating any child. I think the judge was way over the top with his beating. I hve learned over the years what a horrible thing it is to slap your child in the face. There was a time that it never crossed my mind that it could be harmful. I was slapped and I slapped my child. Because of that I have one more thing to feel guilty about as a parent. You live and learn. I do wish I had known then what I know now.

how can you not feel sorry for this girl she was just 16! its not like she went in a game store and ran out without pay for some thing! she did what 90% of the USA does today doweload with out paying! It is no different then makeing your own ringtone with a song you payed for and sending it to some one eles! The judge needs to have has butt kick HARD!!! This girl has a right to be mad and to let people know what she had done to her by her daddy!!

there is a difference between discipline and abuse...trust me i know i was subject to this kind of abuse when i was a child....and i still struggle with the discipline of my own children...how much is too much...when does it cross the line...bottom line this guy exhibited bad form...with the cussing and screaming...i probably needed discipline when i was a child...but i didn't need the over the top screaming and beating...a lot of parents should walk away until they can calmly and rationally discipline their child...the wait will do more to help adjust the attitude than any physical violence

I say if the board of education was applied more today you wouldn't be reading all this nonsense crime.I had my butt tore up like a sows bed and i lived.

This case would have to be investigated because you don't know what her mental limitations are and considering the other comments made by him that were not necessary plus the mother and this is just one on camera? Most parents have something they regret but 17 times with a belt??? Thats over the limit sorry way over- and she might be a brat or hard to take but they raised her soooo you know- they have to look out for the 10 year old--- someone should- who in there right minds bends over a 16 year old? I have watched the video twice,,I saw the girl do several interviews on different shows today,,I am sorry but I cant feel sorry for her, She was caught stealing, it was not her first time, Her father is a judge,he had a choice to whip her butt or call the cops, The spanking could not have been that bad because she was not even crying after it was over.She admitted to setting it up and having the camera ready,Now 7yrs later she tries to blackmail her father,he refuses so she post the video as revenge. She was a spoiled brat when she was 16 and she is a spoiled brat today.
