The Little Rock Police Department is investigating a weekend shooting that left a man paralyzed.

The 28-year-old was shot at least twice in the back, suffering wounds to his neck and shoulder, according to the incident report.

It happened just after 4:30 Saturday morning in the 7100 block of Colonel Glenn Road.

Police say the victim was getting into a car when the shots were fired and did not see who shot him.

After he arrived at the hospital, doctors told police he may have been shot five times and appeared to be paralyzed from the chest down, but was expected to survive.

An hour later, police were called to a home on Allis Street, where a man who had been shot in the leg told them he had been attacked earlier at the Elevations nightclub at 7200 Colonel Glenn Road.

The 25-year-old victim said he was shot as he walked into the front door of a house by someone he did not see.

Police say the victim first told police the suspect had a .357 handgun but then changed his statement to say he did not see it and became uncooperative with officers.

A man sleeping inside the house when the shooting happened said he had opened the front door when the victim knocked and the shots rang out. He said he dove behind a bed, heard a car speed off then noticed the victim had been shot.

The victim's injury was described as serious, but he was expected to survive.

Sounds just like a coward with a gun to me. Shot in the back. What part of that is unclear.

Just to clarify - this is Asher Ave. that was renamed Col. Glenn to try and take away the ghetto stigma, guess these thugs are proving otherwise.

I seriously doubt it was a law abiding citizen that shot him. Im laying odds that the shooter, by law, was not even suppose to be in possession of a gun. But it couldnt have been a person that has a crminal record, our prisons reform them so well before they are released.

Was he shot twice or five times? At 4:30 in the morning, he must have been shot by a law abiding gun owner. We all know that there isnt a problem with criminals, its these damn gun owners not being able to keep their guns in the house at night. I know, lets make a list of everyone that has a gun or CCP, that will help stop crime. Sound stupid? Not to the government.
