Wow, back when I took my driver's test, passing on the right was legal in Arkansas if there was sufficient room on the roadway. People do it all the time to go around someone who is stopped to make a left hand turn, in the absense of a turning lane. Did the law change, or are these post-ers mistaken in their assertions? Passing on the right when someone is making a right hand turn, however, would be a rather bad idea. Still, was this man riding like a moron, really, or was this just a tragic accident? People are so mean.

My heart goes out to the family; but this man caused his own death by disobeying the law and riding like a moron. No matter what kind of vehicle you ride in, you never pass on the right. Lordoflords; we are NOT invisible; if you can't see me when I'm on my Harley, then you need to stay off the road! When a motorcyclist is killed due to someone else's fault, they use the same old excuse - I didn't see him officer. They use this excuse when they pull out in front of us, when they turn left in front of us; and as I've seen on one t-shirt; if you can't see me, then you don't need to be driving. Also, you have real bikers; people that ride American made products and for the most part, ride responsibly; and then you have what the media calls "bikers"; those that ride crotch rockets, and zip in and out of traffic, riding over the speed limit, showing off, and dying in large numbers - these types are not real bikers; just idiots that had enough money for a rice burner.

Terrible accident, but when you take stupid risks then bad things have a tendency to happen. Surely whatever it was he was rushing for would NEVER have been worth his life.

You always have to be on the look out. Always keeping an open eye in your mirrors and seeing everything out there. Always be on guard. Yes, there are those that wish to act STUPID, they are nothing more then a death certificate waiting to be issued. I have on so many occasions seen one of my fellow bikers do something so stupid, I can only think to myself, I'll be scraping his butt up off the road someday. This guy was apparently some kind of moron, you NEVER EVER pass on the right while in the right hand lane, that is just inviting trouble. I have been riding for nearly 40 years, and to say I know all the in's and out's would be the wrong thing for me too say.....there are those that will, and there are those that have. I have been there, and trust me, that ashpalt hurts. I did learn a very valuable lesson from it. Even at my age (I'm not telling that), I still learn something everytime I get on it!

I try to respect all drivers, however some motorcycle drivers sometimes do seem a little more aggressive or dare devil so to speak. I have seen them more than once on 530 do 90-100 passing in and out of traffic just being stupid or trying to be cool. In general let us all be safe out there and respect drivers, all drivers regardless of motorcycle, car, truck, etc...it only take a split second decision to end your life out on the road.

We are told over and over again to watch for motorcylcles. Yes, we should, and I do. They make me nervous, BUT they too have a responsibility to drive responsibily as well. Can't blame all M.C accidents on automobile drivers. I've seen too many of them think they are all but invisible, and sometimes they are when you think about.Sorry this happened,it's so tragic!

Sad, very sad. One small error, one large impact on lives. Just because a motorcycle is narrow, doesnt mean it was made to go thru tight spots.

Passing on the right is illegal, when you ride a cycle you have to be VERY careful other people often cause wrecks but need to follow traffic accidents happen when you dont.
