FAYETTEVILLE, AR - Police are investigating a bank robbery where woman walked into a bank saying her husband had been kidnapped, and she was strapped with an explosive device and forced to rob the bank.

Police responded to Arvest Bank on MLK at 9:29am Monday. Stg. Craig Stout with the Fayetteville Police Department told CNN that the woman told authorities that her husband had been taken hostage by two men and she was being forced to rob the bank free him.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office found the husband tied up in their home. The Bentonville PD bomb squad removed a device from the woman’s ankle and is determining if it is explosive, according to CNN.

“Right now it looks like the real deal. We’ve got no reason to doubt her story,” said Stout.

FPD is not releasing the name of the woman in the incident.

What doesnt make sense to me is that someone kidnapped her husband, strapped what they said was a bomb on this woman, then they let her freely and unescorted by the kidnapper(s) or someone else involved with the kidnapping, just waltz into a bank in hopes this old woman would and could carry out a bank robbery. Think about that while youre watching Maury.

I never said the story was fishy, I simply said something isnt right. There are a lot of details missing from the story. So, butch54 and Amazinhrt, kiss my ......... You preach for people "not to think for you", but apparently someone needs to. Stupid twits. Youre almost as intelligent as those race card pulling bigots on here.

I'm very glad this couple is going to be alright, and she had the courage to tell authorities what was going on.

I think it's sad that someone automatically thinks that this fishy. I happen to have met this couple a few months ago and they are a very sweet and caring elderly couple. I can't believe that there are people out there who would do such a thing to other human beings, and I thank God that no one was seriously injured and that things turned out as well as they did. It could have gone a lot worse...

Something isn't right here. Isn't that what the police thought a few years ago when a man told them that story. Seems to me I remember them not backing off and the guy got spread out in little pieces. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Something wasn't right there so they thought too. Please don't make any calls on right or wrong for me. I don't know how you can think for me when your having a rough time with thinking for yourself. Leave it to the paid professionals.
