SEARCY, AR – Searcy police are looking to identify two women suspected of stealing credit cards and using them to buy gift cards.

Police say the cards are stolen out of unoccupied vehicles where purses or handbags can be seen through the window. Police say the suspects break the windows and steal the cards. The victims’ vehicles are typically in church parking lots or semi-secluded areas.

The stolen credit cards are then immediately taken to a nearby Walmart, Lowes, or Home Depot to buy several hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards.

If anyone can identify the two females, they are asked to call the Searcy Police Department.

There are two things wrong here. One, people leaving their purses and what not in plain sight, not very smart. Two, none of these stores are doing what is required, checking ID's. I couldnt tell you when the last time someone checked my ID when using a credit card. Its all about the money. One place you wont find these women shopping is a GNC, health food store or a diet clinic. I bet the gift cards went for dope, or honey buns.

Most of you are to dumb to know how to tell a dumb employee. Stupid people you swipe your card on your side of the isle. Then you type in your info. If your so stupid as to let your card and info get stolen please don't try to place your responsibility on a cashier. You started the ball rolling with your lack of being responsible. Remember you let it get stolen stupid.

Same old story, keep your stuff secure and keep it. Stores should be responsible if employees are to dumb to check IDs. All stores have a check, debit card or credit card requirement to check ids, if they don't then stors should be held responsible for amount sold.

If your so stupid as to leave your things in a car where they can be seen you need to be ripped off. The trunk is the place. No glass to look through. Metal is also not easier to break. To another stupid comment. When is WalMart responsible to take care of your cards. Don't sign the back. Your ID will be checked. Then most people talk ugly and get rude with cashiers when ask to prove the card is for your use. Don't whine and run down places if your stuff is stolen. You are the DA that should keep it safe. Then again my profile of a thug fits. Dark curly hair. There is a fool or sucker born every minute. If you get out and leave your valuables in plain sight it might of been your sign.

People who do not protect themselves do not have anyone to blame but themselves.I see women leave purses in shopping carts while they are browsing. They have no one to blame but themselves.

I've noticed in many stores...not just Wal-Mart, no one checks ID anymore. I've been to Lowes, Home Depoitand other stores where some will and some won't. My cards are not signed on the back but DO SAY...CHECK ID. If the CS Rep does not check my ID, I give them a hard time and make them them check. They will think twice next time they forget. We as consumers have to be one step ahead and stop blaming others for their lack of concern. Anymore these days the attitude is..."its all about me 1st and then you" No one cares about your security more then you!!!! ALSO...I'm sorry, but if you leave your purse in the car and its VISABLE to OTHERS then you deserve to be taught a lesson. Thats like the boy who cried wolf. SERIOUSLY....why would you leave your purse with your money and credit cards in plain view? Are that much of an idiot and you think we leave in a crimeless community. I not only blame the theives but I blame the people that left their things out to be taken. STUPID IS, IS STUPID DOES

Walmart has become Mecca for credit card and identity thieves. They don't verify anything, just ring it up and shove them out the door. Walmart couldn't care less about the financial security of their customers. That's why they stopped requiring a signature on all card purchases under $50. They just want enough money to bribe another government official so they can build more stores, and they're not particular how they get it or what damage it may cause their customers.
