TUCKERMAN, AR – A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Ike Nunn, who is suspected of killing his stepfather over the weekend in Tuckerman. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says that Nunn is currently in a psychiatric facility in Toledo, OH.

Cecil Phillips, Nunn’s stepfather, was found dead in his camper trailer on Sunday. The Arkansas State Crime Lab says Phillips died as a result of blunt force trauma and had sustained several skull fractures. A wooden bat, believed to be used in the homicide, was found in the closet of Phillips’ trailer.

The bench warrant says that Nunn was in Arkansas for a custody hearing, where a judge ruled that Nunn was give up custody of his children. According to the warrant, “it was learned during the course of the investigation and interviews that Nunn had made threats that he was going to kill anyone who testified against him in the custody hearing.”

Phillips’ car was found in the parking lot of the Toledo psychiatric facility. The bench warrant says that staff at the hospital told law enforcement that Nunn had made comments about losing his children and that the staff should contact Arkansas law enforcement because he had just killed his dad.
