CONWAY, AR – Dozens of children are enjoying a brighter holiday season because of shopping trips with police. Many police departments throughout the state have “Shop with a Cop”, programs that provide gifts for children who might not otherwise get anything for Christmas.

Police officers in North Little Rock, Conway, and other areas of Arkansas, Sunday morning, went shopping with children. In Conway, city police, joined law enforcement dispatchers, probation and parole officers and Arkansas State Police, treated 67 youngsters to one hundred dollar shopping sprees.

The money to pay for the annual holiday event is provided by donations to the Fraternal Order of Police. Officers pushed shopping carts and walked the aisles of Walmart, Sunday morning, as children searched for gifts that brought smiles to their young faces.

It is something that both law enforcement and children look forward to every year.
