AUSTIN, AR – Austin Police say a suspect has been arrested in connection with eight vehicle thefts, including an Arkansas State Police car, in which 5 guns were stolen.

Police say they saw the suspect, 31-year-old Randal Harris from Sherwood, on a security camera in a stolen truck rummaging through a person’s car. The stolen truck was later found near Highway 100 and I-430.

Police say they found a motel room registered to Harris in North Little Rock. In the room police say they found “numerous items stolen from the City of Austin and the City of Beebe.” The items included 5 guns, electronics, and clothing.

Harris is charged with 9 counts of breaking or entering and is held on $10,000 bond.

The vehicle thefts occurred in the Carriage Court Phase II and Cross Creek subdivisions, and also along Weathering Drive early Tuesday morning.

Anyone with information or questions about the stolen items can contact the Austin Police at 501-843-7856.

Steph, I don't know him but I know his KIND! I don't care what life has put you through, you don't take from others. Did he think twice of who he was stealing from that maybe they had families (no or he would have noticed the 2 carseats while taking from me), people may have just lost someone to cancer, lost their jobs, house, family? NO he did not, he did not care what I was going through when he decided to steal from me and my children. I hope he gets locked up for a LONG time. YES you guys were right he is a drug addict, he was caught yet again doing drugs in a stolen car with multiple stolen wallets, stolen money, credit cards and social security cards. He should have never been out long enough to do this again!!

Why is it everyone is so quick to jump on an "alleged" suspect? Most seem to have derogatory nicknames for every county in the state. If that's how you think of Ar. why are you still living in it? I thought he was supposed to get a trial or something first.

As much as I'd like to agree with both of you, you don't know what this man has been through. If you look at the expression on his face, you could see the look of distress. Of course lets not forget when we choose to use drugs and lose focus on whats important these type of things come about in your life. This is from someone who knows him personally .. Say NO to drugs!

As much as Id like to agree with ya there amberjack, I cant on this one. The guys from Sherwood. LOL. He is a Pulaski County hood rat, not a Lonoke County methabilly. Takes some nuts tho to break into a troopers car. I only wish the trooper, or someone, would have caught him and put a bullet in his head.

Pay attention class, this is what a Lonoke County Methbilly looks like, he can't smile or he would show his tooth
