Why dont the 2 fathers have a face to face talk. School not doing anything so the parents need to get this stopped now.

Lets put these bullies on the football field and see how they do against the center linebacker. But you know it wont stop there because it only gets worse as kids progress through life. There are bullies in adult life that inflict much worse than this. I remember having a long switch blade pulled on me at age 14. Man that knife seemed long. Life is a steep learning curve and most survive despite the meaness out there. I agree this in not the kind of education a kid needs and those responcible need to be punished but it's not going away anytime soon. A sad commentary on the human race.

I just asked my daughter that goes to Conway High East if she knew the child that was attacked. She told me who it was and what happened. I was appalled. Since I know this young man, the manner in which these thugs attached him is senseless. The beaten boy is slight for his age and was waylaid in an empty stairwell. The boys with the attacker were said to have "locked" the doors so no one could enter. The attacker knocked the boy out with the first punch and then proceeded to give him a total of 17 blows. He had a head injury but was thankfully not killed by a boy twice his size.

My Child has been bullied at this school for years. Not alot is done no matter what you do. Its very sad and when you go for help the staff acts like they have it under control. What a joke Conway is when it comes to bullying. My child also got beat up by a child that was twice my child's size but that bully still continues to make fun, talk nasty, and torment my child on a day to day basis. Its just sad!!!!

do all of the specials you want on bullying but it's never going to stop. All that's going to happen is you're creating more criminals by prosecuting the 'bullies'...This stupid gov't and people just need to realize that bullying will always exist as long as there are kids in this world. It's called being immature. The old adage that "kids are cruel" is a fact. I'm sorry this happened to her son, hopefully the incident with him "hitting that girl" was just an accident but maybe this family should teach their son to stand up for himself, maybe even take some self defense classes to boost his confidence and also be able to protect himself. Giving a 16 yr old a third degree battery for a fist fight in school seems a bit absurd to me. Just saying..

Arky870 you should be ashamed of yourself for that comment. You wouldn't say that if it was your child or family member so be mindful of the things you say you might be in this mother shoes one day but I send my prayers out to this young man and I hope he recovers well physically, emotionally, and mentally. His mother need to put him in some self defense classes or some.....

There is no reason for a child to be bullied. One of my grandsons attends that school. He likes it. He told me he doesn't get bullied. He is the quite type. Some would say nerd. With a black belt. Before my next grandson starts school My wife and I will see that he is on his way to a black belt. My wife has one and I can't ever remember her being abused. Don't sit back and let your children be bullied. Do something besides sit and whine. What I would like to see is Martial arts taught in school as an elective. Working the brain is great but don't neglect the body. It will get weak.

Although the station did a good job with the report, there are things left unsaid. The incident where the girl was hit in the mouth occured when the two students were playing and it was resolved on the same day and was written as an accident. The entire weekend passes and a student that wasn't even involved decides to resolve what was said to have been resolved the prior week? Seriously? If we were all to take what we thought was justice into our own hands how much worse would this world be? So what is being said in so many words is 'since apparently what the school did to take care of the issue wasn't good enough, how can they be trusted to take care of this issue?' which is why the parents are pushing the issue.I am a wampus cat thru and thru - I bleed blue, but if there is a no bullying policy, and I understand that there are a large amount of students to keep an eye on, lets just see how they enforce it.No, parent should have to receive a call about their child being knocked out by another student in a place that is supposed to be safe.I thank Fox 16 for covering this and ask that they stay on top of it. No sweeping this one under the rug! And on another note - the police report says it was a fight -My question is how is it a fight when only one person is throwing punches?
