Police searching for suspects who shot at officers

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Little Rock Police are searching for men who they think robbed the Sunshine Food Store then shot at police officers while fleeing.

Police say the two men robbed an individual at 7:50pm at 6313 Senate Drive. Just after 8pm, according to police, those same two men robbed the Sunshine Food Store at 3200 Baseline Road.

Witnesses told police the suspects walked in the store brandishing handguns. They said the suspects walked behind the counter and demanded money and cigarettes. One of the suspects struck an employee in the back of the head with a pistol, according to reports.

Police responding to the call chased the suspects to the 8700 block of Stanton Road. That is where three people jumped out of their car and fled into a trailer park while shooting at officers. Police say they returned fire. No officers were hit in the exchange, it is not unknown if the suspects were.

The suspects escaped but detectives do have information on them and are working to get them identified.

Tired, I'm sorry but you need to be more informed before you start posting useless comments! Those police officers put their selfs in the line of harm to protect YOU! And I personally know the officer who was chasing the "thugs" and he is the furthest thing from a thug. There may be bad apples in any situtation but unless you know what you are talking about I suggest you keep it to yourself.

I would comment on Tired's crap of a comment, but after reviewing their previous one's its apparent that negative nancy there, just likes to whine about everything. If it was you out there, your'd have ran. Im willing to bet that in person, your a fragile little flower that finds it easy to drop your hate comments on here because it makes you feel like a king. I'm sure this comment will get modded too. Don't worry i'll repost it everyday if i have to. God Bless those officers. They are some of the hardest workers on the LRPD with good intentions in their hearts and their heads in the right place.
