LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Some Little Rock School District parents are very upset after leaders reassign school principals.

For example, the principal at Western Hills Elementary will now be the leader at McDermott Elementary beginning next school term. It is a a decision made by the superintendent, approved by the board and upsetting community stakeholders at a special meeting Monday night.

"We feel like we have broken up without the chance of saying goodbye," said parent Michael Woolfolk.

School leaders maintain the decision is what's best for the students. But Superintendent Morris Holmes says he will reconsider the changes.

In all, 17 schools are affected.
