EL DORADO, Ark. (AP) — A prosecutor says that Arkansas State Police were justified in using deadly force in the January shootout that killed a man accused in the death of two people, including a distant relative of former Gov. Mike Huckabee.
The El Dorado News-Times reports that prosecutor Robin Carroll found that law enforcement officers were justified in their use of deadly force in the January shootout that left Donald Hux dead.
Authorities issued an arrest warrant for capital murder for Hux after he allegedly shot Sandy Huckabee and kidnapped Huckabee's wife, Amy. Carroll says Hux later shot and killed Amy Huckabee. Hux died in a shootout with police.
Sandy Huckabee's father was the first cousin of former presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee's father.
