MAGNOLIA, Ark. (AP) — An Oklahoma prosecutor says there will be no plea deal for a woman charged with stealing horses from a Southern Arkansas University rodeo barn and bringing them to Oklahoma.
Nineteen-year-old Jaci Jackson of Broken Bow is charged in Oklahoma with bringing stolen property into the state, concealing stolen property and cruelty to animals.
Four of the five horses were found alive but in poor condition in McCurtain County. The fifth was found dead.
District Attorney Mark Matloff told The Banner-News Thursday that Jackson's attorney contacted him about any potential plea deal and Matloff said he will not make an offer.
Defense attorney Richard Stout did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
