Protecting your copper as thefts rise

Saline County Sheriff Bruce Pennington says copper thefts are on the rise because as the weather cools, people won't notice their air conditioning units missing for some time.

Well said Demopublican, Well said ! If you buy a 2010 Mercedes Benz for $300.00, a sensible person would know it was STOLEN, But if you buy $300.00 worth of cut up scraps of copper from some dude that wreaks of beer and body odor and can't provide an accurate location he obtained said copper, it's called the Scrap Metal business

I agree. The scrap place should have a log with a copy of the driver license for person scraping copper. I wish Air Conditioners had a lock on them.

I think its amusing that there has not been any arrest of theses companies that buy all this stolen copper. These "Scrap metal" dealers are part of the criminal enterprise also.
