reiterating some of the very good suggestions 1. CCW permit 2. Don't be scared 3. Squeeze, don't pull the trigger and I'll add this 4. Document the abuse and retain a good lawyer

I couldn't agree more with wpsark and 50something. Ladies, go out buy yourself a handgun, get yourself a Conceled Carry Permit, and carry it with you every where you go. That little worthless piece of paper isn't going to protect you. So, arm yourself. And remember....squeeze don't pull the trigger!

so there will be two dead people if someone walks you to your car! these people don't care to take out an extra! get a gun and take classes on how to use it! take self defense classes too. most of all, be very choosey in who you date and marry!

I'll say this again, it's sick that you can go into the local bar, get into a drunken bar fight and get lengthy jail time for felony battery/assault. but if a man beats his wife/gf, he may go to jail for 2 days only to be released with a misdemeanor battery charge. 2 days is not enough time for an abused woman to escape an abusive man. I know of someone in an abusive relationship, he does things like breaks her car windshield and parks behind her car so that she can't leave. he's had the cops called on him several times for beating the crap out of her but nothing happens. He's finally in prison for a non-violent charge. That's her only escape. There's something wrong with that! AFter you get a restrainig order, go out and get a hand gun. That's your only protection.

That's kind of what I was thinking. A real deadly joke. I don't think anything short of some kind of relocation program for the victims would work. That only to a degree. There are some that nothing will stop.
