NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Transportation officials are planning a public hearing to discuss proposed alternatives for improvements to the Broadway Bridge that crosses the Arkansas River between Little Rock and North Little Rock.
The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department says the meeting will be held in North Little Rock on Aug. 23.
Officials say there are increasing maintenance costs for the bridge and that the existing structure has been deteriorating.
Officials say five alternatives will be presented during the meeting — four that involve construction and one in which no action on the bridge would be taken.
The meeting is scheduled to run from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Arkansas Transit Association Building in North Little Rock.
