The same pipeline that ruptured March 29th runs through the Lake Maumelle watershed.

Tuesday, members of the Pulaski County Quorum Court passed a resolution supporting a push to have the pipeline rerouted around the lake.

The quorum court also heard a presentation on steps being taken to beef up response capabilities should there be a spill in the watershed.

They include deploying a mobile response center to the area, working with ExxonMobil, owners of the pipeline, to increase monitoring activities and supplying additional training for local emergency responders.
