Butch, you are correct. They basically told me the same thing. When I went from SEAL to DEVGRU, I had to do an IQ test, 3 of them actually. Lowest score was 133 and the highest was 136. I asked a friend of mine who is in the mental health field to break it down for me. She explained a lot to me, but in a nutshell, this is how it breaks down: Over 140 - Genius or near genius 120 - 140 - Very superior intelligence 110 - 119 - Superior intelligence 90 - 109 - Normal or average intelligence 80 - 89 - Dullness 70 - 79 - Borderline deficiency Under 70 - Definite feeble-mindedness

I'm also willing to bet "affirmative action" had a lot to do with this particular case in NY.

jodashe; That's one states "high" court and one city. And one newspaper's headline? 102 is still above "average", and not even close to borderline challanged.

Got the info from wikipedia. Not a shrink, so some of it was difficult to discern. The "average" is from percentages. 95 percent of the population scores between 70 and 130; therefore the "average" is halfway between - 100. I took two online last year. Scores were different. Above 120 and below 130. I guess I could take 10 tests and come up with 10 different scores; as we all could I reckon. The averages also differ when race, country, state, etc. come into play; but I ain't going there!

US court confirms that only low IQ police officers are allowed in the US!!! September 22 2012 at 10:27 PM No score for this post Hadi (Login raghfarm) The Anusiya (Iran) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Court OKs Barring High IQs for Cops A man whose bid to become a police officer was rejected after he scored too high on an intelligence test has lost an appeal in his federal lawsuit against the city. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York upheld a lower courts decision that the city did not discriminate against Robert Jordan because the same standards were applied to everyone who took the test. This kind of puts an official face on discrimination in America against people of a certain class, Jordan said today from his Waterford home. I maintain you have no more control over your basic intelligence than your eye color or your gender or anything else. He said he does not plan to take any further legal action. So oops my bad he scored 102 so I stand @ my point yankee lol

Well Jodashe with that 102 score being that now I'm not happy with my little 121 IQ. Arkansas Yankee I was thinking in the military we were told average was 90 to 110. I could be wrong. To many chemical experiments sense then. Mostly under medical supervision.

jodashe; Curious as to where you got your "FACT". Would like to read that myself. I did not get extensive in my "research"; but checked it out a little bit. 100 is average. It is socially unacceptable to use the r word now; so I'll say "challanged" - 70 and below. 102 is nowhere near borderline. Just curious as to where you got your FACT.
