Puppy mill rescued dogs find homes

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Tanya Spiva is ready to take home a new addition to her family. After suffering in a puppy mill, Spiva's dog and many others can now live a good life.

Today, a local foundation adopted out about 11 dogs to families.

"These puppy mills are horrible. There are other ways to get dogs rather than put them through what they have been through," said Spiva.

The dogs are from a Garland County puppy mill bust last month.

Investigators found 175 dogs living in awful conditions. Authorities sent some of the dogs to rescue foundations across the country. But about 20 remained with the Stop Animal Cruelty group.

They spent weeks helping the dogs recover.

"Some of them its difficult, but most of them have come around really well," said spokesperson Linda Hall.

Nine dogs are still left to adopt.
