I stand by my belief that drug testing is a violation of our 4th Ammendment rights. Think about it. Some have posted that there should be drug testing for buying firearms. What's next? Drug testing for buying an automobile? Knives have been used to kill people; drug test those buying flatware to eat with? You don't want to get that ball rolling, trust me! Before it ends, you'll have goosestepping Brown Shirts going door to door. But I gotta ask; if this does pass, how will it set women back centuries? Yes, it may set back those that have lived off welfare their entire lives, and have bred female children that have followed in their mother's footsteps; but seriously, again I ask, how is this going to set women back centuries? Enlighten me please! But before you go off on me, read my words - I'm against it. You have an accident at work, fine, drug test; there is reasonable cause; but drug testing for a job, and random drug testing - that crap belongs to Nazi's, Commies, and Socialists!

I have never read such ridiculous comments. But what would anyone expect coming from Arkansas. Do you people not realize that unemployment benefits are paid by the EMPLOYER! for those that work for them. You are drawing benefits from an employer that you once worked for. It is INSURANCE! from a company/corporation to be paid to you when you no longer work for them. This has nothing to do with welfare, WIC or any other state benefit. AND it has nothing to do with the President. These Repubs are getting laws passed that is going to set Arkansas and especially Women back centuries with their lame and machoistic thinking.

hOW MUCH IS IS GOING TO COST THE STATE??? REALLY?? HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK IT IS COSTING THE STATE AND TAXPAYERS EVERYWHERE TO KEEP THESE PEOPLE UP , EVRYBODY NEEDS HELP SOMETIMES,, BUT BEING ON FREE LIVING FOR LIKE MORE THAN 6 MONTHS IS CRAZY... JUST ANOTHER REASON FOR THEM TO SIT AT HOME AND COLLECT A CHECK. THEY SHOULD HAVE TO HAV E A DRUG TEST FOR WELFARE AND UNEMPLOYMENT!! EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAS A JOB HAS TO WHY NOT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! QUIT MAKING EXCUSES FOR NON WORKING LAZY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes we should test because why should the rest of hard working citizens keep paying for the free loaders. If a person wants to use the unimployment benifits and wellfare than they commit to being drug free and working to find gainful employment. I have no problem helping people that trully need it but why should I help someone that wants to scam the system. I have seen many people driving rich fancy cars and living the high life on taxes that I paid in. We could actually create more jobs and save tax dollors by hiring people to actually go out and check on people to catch the scammers. It seems to be a hot topic but I can't for the life of me understand why. If you live your life honest than what do you have to worry about. If we don't change our ways then we will always get the same results.

Well with those Republican what did people think was going to happen. They should be tested for alcohol and drugs first! All their stupid new laws just to catch a few pot smokers! That is about all that stays in your system for 30+ days. Tell no one and check all government enployeees and then see who is surprised. It is the drunks and real dope heads who will not work.

I agree that something needs to be done to stop the welfare cycle. Who knows how many families have been doing it for generations? One thing Bill did right was the welfare to work program ( which Nobama got rid of to secure more votes for his 2nd term ). Unemployment? It' a joke. I knew a couple of people that got numbers out of the yellow pages for their "job searches". Drug testing? Good idea, but I've always felt that drug testing for employment, and random drug tests at work, were and are a violation of our 4th Ammendment. We cling to the 1st and 2nd one's so much; but there are 8 others that we should not forget!

It's unconstitutional. Being unemployed or poor is not probable cause for a search. Florida tried this junk also. Before it was suspended due to constitutional challenge, it cost more to test than they made in savings. They are also spending taxpayer money to defend an unconstitutional law. Now go follow the money on who profited from it which was the company doing the tests. For those of you all upset about your rights being violated by all those invisible laws taking away your right to a gun, you should be also paying attention to this session's continual passing of unlawful measures that actually attempting to take away Constitution rights.

and not to mention how many people I've interviewed who turn down jobs because it pays as much as they're making on unemployment..I've tried to report those people but there's no one at the UE office who handles reports. RIDICULOUS BS

Hey Pat, I love what you're saying and the UE office doesn't even verify that they've been job hunting. You can just throw in random phone numbers and make up business names. They don't do dilligence in verifying that you are searching for a job. I know this because I've worked in HR for 10 years and never once, not one single time, has the Employment security division called me to verify that someone met with me or applied for a job. They don't do anything but keep giving extended benefits to those that are just taking a vacation while drawing a check. I know asshats that are drawing unemployment and doing jobs where they are paid under the table, soaking it up. I don't agree with drug testing the unemployed, cut off their benefits when their benefits are up, no more extensions, then they'll got off their a** and get a job, let the employer drug test them. But I think we should drug test welfare mooches and those on "disability"..Obviously I'm not talking about disabled vets who actually earn it or the true handicapped people. I'm talking about those who are too fat to work but can still have sex and pop out kids, those with mysterious "back/neck pain" but can still go fishing, hunting, hiking, play on the computer all day, etc. Grrrr it puts me in such a bad mood even thinking about this, I've paid taxes from the day I was able to legally be employed and have never gotten a damn thing from the govt. Not even a pell grant for school while mooches take advantage of the system that is meant to help those who truly need it. Should line all the mooches up and throw them in prison for fraud. Sick of 60% of my salary going to fktards who do NOTHING to contribute to society. And yes, just add up all of the taxes that you pay, sales tax, employment, property tax, local tax etc and it is atleast 60% of your salary...Drug test the welfare mooches, I bet they'd rather work than give up their drugs. Sick of working so that the scum doesn't have to.
