"dilligaf", if he was doing his job, he has done nothing to get fired for you are correct. Divorce maybe, fired no.

Petrino, may have been immoral, he is married, but that is between him and his wife, not the public. Other than that, why should he have been fired if that girl was willing? He has nothing to do with her grades so that can't be the reason, and she was of age to make up her mind if she wanted to or not, or if she was notof age, I want to know why he is not in jail? Otherwise there was no reason for the college to fire him, NONE.

Everyone makes mistakes in their life and hopefully learn from them with not severe consequences to boot. In this case - what compounds the problem is the fact that BP lied about the incident to his boss and to everyone else. His character is in question and a trust relationship with the University has been broken although as a Hog fan I hate to lose him ... there are others as good if not better than him in the coaching field. Hope he finds another job. I pray for him and his family - no one should have to go through this but he brought it on himself!

I'm sure glad that moral/immoral behavior doesn't dictate all of our jobs. I'm sure a lot of us would be unemployed. Nobody's perfect

@dilligaf - The majority of the players wanted to keep Nutt as well. The U of A lost recruits because they fired him. You're argument applies to every coach that has ever been fired (they all have their supporters). However, the personal preference of a bunch of 18 to 22 year olds doesn't change the fact that Bobby hired his mistress for an almost $60k state job. If you think firing Bobby will be expensive, just wait until the lawsuits start flying that are a direct result of his actions.

Good post dilligaf, either way this turns out, Long is not going to please everyone. I say look after the program and keep him with a significant suspension.
