Randolph Co. jury deliberating in Billy Green case

Jurors are deliberating in the retrial of an Arkansas man charged with capital murder in the death of a Dalton couple and their two children.

POCAHONTAS, Ark. (AP) — Jurors are deliberating in the retrial of an Arkansas man charged with capital murder in the death of a Dalton couple and their two children.

Prosecutors say Billy Green killed Carl and Lisa Elliott and their children, 6-year-old Gregory and 8-year-old Felicia, over a drug deal gone wrong. Green has been convicted once in the killings and sentenced to death, but the Arkansas Supreme Court ordered a new trial.

Green's attorney told jurors that no forensic or DNA evidence links his client to the crimes. Green testified that his son, Chad Green, killed the family.

Chad Green was convicted in a separate trial and sentenced to life in prison.

The Jonesboro Sun reports the jury deliberated about two hours Tuesday before adjourning. Deliberations resume Wednesday morning.
