LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The National Weather Service says severe storms are possible Monday after much of the state experiences warm temperatures that are well above average for this time of year.
Forecasters say record temperatures are possible through Sunday, with highs predicted in the 80s throughout the state.
On Monday, a strong storm system will make its way toward Arkansas, bringing a cold front with it.
The weather service says the forecast could change because the system is still several days away. But forecasters say it's possible Arkansas will see thunderstorms and some of them could be severe.
The Storm Prediction Center says the greatest risk for severe weather Monday is from the Ozarks south to the Gulf Coast — encompassing nearly all of Arkansas and Louisiana.
