PARON, Ark. (AP) — Authorities say remains found in the Ouachita National Forest have been identified as a man who has been missing for nearly five years.

The Saline County Sheriff's office says family members have been notified that the remains discovered Dec. 15 in the forest near Paron were those of Daniel Eakin. Sheriff's detective Ron Parsons told the Saline Courier the area was very remote and remnants of a campsite were nearby.

Eakin was reported missing on July 17, 2007, from El Dorado.

He reportedly told his sister he was going camping and left in his pickup truck.

Authorities say no foul play is suspected.
