this is a simple case of rape. i really dont understand the comments that place the boy at fault. he is not old enough to share the blame. of course he knew it was wrong. but he is a child. he cannot be held at fault!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Age defines who the victim is? Last time I checked, that was not in the definition. And for one to damn everyone because of their past is stupid. Not every case like this is the same. The people and circumstances are not the same. So, just because one felt threatened if they told, does not mean its the same in every case like this. my point is, you have to look at every angle of things. Both of them knew it was wrong. One of the two should have either put a stop to it or shed light of it to someone who could have. Not only is the techers life ruined, so is the 15 year olds. This will follow the two of them forever. My comment to that is oh well, ya should not have done it, you knew it was wrong, the both of ya. I dont pity either of them because they both knew it was wrong.

Had this been a 15 yr old girl and 36 yr old man...it would be "rape"...why/how is this different?? A child is a victim in a situation like this. She was a "trusting" adult that took advatage of this child! Yes, he should have told someone, but he's still a victim because of his age.

The people who are commenting about the boy sharing responsibility or should be held accountable for "not telling" should wake up and smell the coffee. There are other cases where the victim "stayed" or didn't tell, do you understand the power adults wield? Look up a case in Harrison with a taekwondo instructor and tell me how a child should share responsibility. One day the adult tells the child they are special. They tell them they are unhappy. Compassion and feelings of "he/she pays attention to me" become a perfect storm of a predator drawing a prey in. You do not understand until you have lived it, and you should be ashamed of yourselves for placing blame ON A CHILD.

They are both guilty. She is guilty of having sex with a minor and he is guilty of not reporting it. If you can honestly tell me that a person that is 15 does not know that this wrong, then you are a fool. (unless the victim has a mental defect or something) He knew it was wrong, and she knew it was wrong. One, or both of them, should have spoken up when the first action, no matter whos action it was, was taken. I blame them both.

She is guilty, no doubt, and she will be punished for her actions. Before putting all the blame on her, lets take a look at the boy. Teenagers are sexually active these days, and the thought of having a sexual relationship with a teacher was probably exciting, and he most likely had the support of his friends. Take a look at how many times the sexual encounters occured. Somewhere along the line, something went wrong, and it's possible she couldn't meet his demands or his friends, so he squeeled. Another posibility too many kids new and the word got around, either way, both are guilty. Why she chose a kid is beyond me. She needs to be banned from the school system, counseling and prison time.

I agree with Cathey and 50somthing The young man kept going back so why didn't he tell. If she did it she was wrong. But as many times as he says it happened he had plenty of chances to tell. Maybe she was trying to stop it and so now maybe he is trying to get back at her. Really sad both of their lives are changed forever.

This is vulgar and disgusting! I cannot possibly understand why a grown woman would be interested in a child of this age.how embarrassing for her family! If the allegations are true she deserves all of the consequences! I do want to applaud the Cabot school district for their quick action of suspending the teacher as soon as they knew of the investigations, although situations like this may cause parents to loose trust and faith in teachers we have seen that the school district is serious about protecting the kids. As for the boy i certainly hope he is not proud of himself he should have went to his parents as soon as he knew something was weird about her! he needs to have some responsibility in all of this even though she should have never put him in this situation in the first place he handled it wrong and now that teachers life is basically over. you may think its funny now but one day you will grow up and realize life is not all fun and games!
