Report: Martha Shoffner to Enter Guilty Plea Today

Former Arkansas Treasurer Martha Shoffner is expected to enter a guilty plea at a Friday afternoon hearing.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Former Arkansas Treasurer Martha Shoffner is expected to enter a guilty plea at a Friday afternoon hearing.

According to Max Brantley with the Arkansas Times, Shoffner is expected to enter a negotiated plea at a "felony waiver hearing" scheduled for 2:00 Friday afternoon.

The article says if Shoffner does enter the plea at the hearing, she will not be sentenced until a full report has been produced by the probation office.

Martha Shoffner retired as Arkansas Treasurer last Tuesday amid extortion allegations.
