ROLAND, AR – About 5 to 8 acres of timber burned Sunday night after a teenager shot a Mason jar of gasoline that was sitting next to a small fire, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

The report says 18-year-old Jacob Harter and his friend Paul Kanatzar were shooting guns on Berry Patch Lane, in west Pulaski County. The report says Harter shot the jar and the gasoline poured onto the fire. When Harter left to get some water, the report says Kanatzar drove his Jeep over the fire in an attempt to put out the flames.

The report says the Jeep became stuck on a tree stump, puncturing its gas tank, resulting in the Jeep being completely burned.

The report says the woods belonged to Deltic Timber. 22 firefighters fought the fire, as well as personnel from the Arkansas State Forestry Commission.

Harter was cited for violating the burn ban.

Or maybe their just kids? Good god people you act like you've never made a mistake before. Yes they deserve punishment, but this doesn't make them stupid nor morons. At least their not smoking pot or driving drunk after parties like the majority of kids these days. Read the article in the paper, rather than this biased journalism, get the real story there. These are kids that made a mistake, we've all made mistakes before, thank goodness no one was hurt

What a couple of morons! Are they really that stupid? And seriously, only charged with "violating the burn ban"? How about some pay back for not only the timber but to the fire dept. as well! Thank the good Lord no one lost their house because of these two morons!
