LITTLE ROCK, AR - Republican Party leaders like Congressman Tim Griffin and Republican Party Chairman Doyle Webb joined former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee on the microphone to rally supporters as the election approaches.

Saturday's main focus was on local politics.

This election is an opportunity for republicans to take the majority in both the house and senate in the Arkansas legislature.

"Give the republicans a chance," said Huckabee. "They have never in this state had an opportunity to have the majority of the house and senate. Give them a chance! If they don't do better you can have another election in two years and figure it put then."

Huckabee also addressed social issues at the rally like marriage rights, racism within the party and abortion. Specifically, backing Missouri senate candidate Todd Akin after Akin's August statement that a woman's body can "shut down" a pregnancy if it's a legitimate rape.

"People have a real clear choice and it's not about a six second comment," said Huckabee. "It's about a six year record of a very liberal senator up there."

Huckabee added he supports Akin as a neighboring state's senator as an effort to get a Republican majority in the senate on the national level as well here in the Arkansas legislature.

I sure don’t want to get any news from any of those stations, just because they don’t report any news unless Obama tells them what to report and that’s a fact. All left wing lap dog cheerleaders for Obama. Everyone know this.

I can’t believe people are still brain washed as to thinking Obama is there MESSIAH! This just tells you they can’t READ and don’t understand what policies he has put in place. If people don’t read the bills and just listen to the Left-wing progressive liberals that call themselves Democrats, yes call them self’s Democrats this is a very very sad day. The Democrat party has been taken over by the far left and everyone knows this. All your media news is pushing for Obama to win, why is that. So he can put into place his social justice agenda which he has been doing over the last 4 years. Even our local Fox 16 along with the others does the same and covers for Obama and doesn’t report what’s going on. That’s why I get my news from the foxnews.com the only place you can get ALL the news. Not just what the Obama news wants you to hear!!!

A woman's body can "shut down" a pregnancy if it's a legitimate rape according to Akins whom Mr Huckabee supports. Yes Mr Huckabee we do have a clear choice and it is not a Republican House and Senate! I sure don't want to move back in time! Sounds like i was a low turnout.
